Should you repair or replace your water heater?
Cost, age, and efficiency settle most repair-or-replace decisions:
- Cost: if the repair runs more than about 50% of a new unit's price, replacement usually wins
- Age: gas tanks last around 8–12 years; tankless units 20+. A failing unit near those marks is telling you something

How does hard water damage water heaters?
Hard water leaves sediment in your tank: LA and Orange County water carries heavy mineral content, and your water heater is where it settles. Sediment builds a layer on the tank bottom that insulates the burner from the water — the source of those popping and rumbling sounds — forcing longer burns, higher bills, and early tank failure. Which water heater problems need a same-day call?

- Water pooling around the base — tanks rarely stop leaking on their own
- Rust-colored hot water — the tank or anode rod is corroding

Why did my hot water suddenly run out faster? +
Usually sediment buildup displacing tank capacity, or a failed dip tube mixing cold water into your hot supply. Both are diagnosable quickly — and the fix is often far cheaper than the replacement you might be dreading.
Is a leaking water heater an emergency? +
Treat it like one. Leaks from the tank body itself mean the tank is failing and can escalate to a full rupture; leaks from valves or fittings are repairable but still damage flooring fast. Shut off the water supply to the unit and call — we're available every day.
What maintenance does a water heater need? +
An annual flush to clear sediment (especially important with SoCal's hard water), an anode rod check every couple of years, and a look at the temperature-pressure relief valve. Do you charge extra for weekend water heater repairs? +
No — nights, weekends, and holidays cost the same as a Tuesday morning. We quote the price upfront before starting any repair.
