Trenchless Sewer Line Repair in Long Beach
Power Pro Plumbing, Heating & Air repairs and replaces sewer lines trenchlessly across Long Beach, LA, and Orange County, using pipe lining or pipe bursting through one or two small access points that keep your yard intact.
We're trained and experienced in both major trenchless methods: pipe lining (CIPP), which cures a new jointless pipe inside the old one, and pipe bursting, which pulls a brand-new pipe through the old line's path while breaking the old pipe outward. Between them, nearly any failed residential lateral can be renewed without open trenching.
For the older neighborhoods of Long Beach and the surrounding LA and OC area — where root-invaded clay laterals are practically a local tradition — trenchless is usually the fastest, cleanest, and most economical permanent fix. Free estimates on every job.
What are the two trenchless sewer repair methods?
The two trenchless methods are pipe lining and pipe bursting. Pipe lining (cured-in-place pipe, or CIPP): a resin-saturated liner is pulled through the existing pipe, inflated against the walls, and cured in place. The result is a smooth, jointless new pipe inside the old one — root-resistant and rated for up to 50 years of service. Lining requires the old pipe to hold its shape, so it suits cracked or root-invaded lines that haven't collapsed.
Pipe bursting: a bursting head is pulled through the old line, fracturing it outward while towing a new pipe into its place. Bursting fully replaces the pipe — and can even upsize it — making it the right choice when the old line is collapsed or too far gone to line.
Why do homeowners choose trenchless sewer repair?
Homeowners choose trenchless sewer repair for advantages that go beyond saving the lawn:
- Yard, driveway, and landscaping stay intact — no trench across the property
- Faster completion, often in a day, versus days of excavation and restoration
- No city fines or permit complications from large open-cut excavation
- New pipe performance: jointless liners and HDPE burst pipe resist the root intrusion that killed the original
- Total project cost is frequently lower once you count landscape and hardscape restoration
Is your sewer line a candidate for trenchless repair?
Most sewer lines are candidates: almost every pipe material can be renewed trenchlessly — clay, cast iron, ABS, even Orangeburg in many cases. The deciding factors are the line's condition and geometry, which our camera inspection establishes up front. Severely collapsed sections may need a small spot excavation before lining, and we'll map all of that out in your estimate so the plan and price are clear before work starts.
Trenchless Sewer Repair FAQs
How much digging does trenchless actually involve? +
Typically one or two small access pits at the ends of the run — a far cry from an open trench across the yard. In some lining jobs, existing cleanouts provide access with no digging at all.
How long does trenchless sewer replacement take? +
Most residential jobs finish in a single day, including cure time for lining. Traditional excavation of the same line often takes several days plus landscape restoration afterward.
Is trenchless repair as durable as full replacement? +
Yes. Cured liners are structural on their own and rated for up to 50 years, and pipe bursting installs an entirely new pipe. Both resist root intrusion better than the jointed clay or cast iron they replace.
What does trenchless cost compared to traditional excavation? +
The pipe work itself is often comparable, but trenchless usually wins on total cost because there's little to no landscape, driveway, or hardscape restoration afterward. We'll give you a free, itemized estimate so you can compare honestly.
